My interest and passion for the dental field was reinforced after I got an opportunity to work with three esteemed general dental practitioners in Northern Virginia. I first served as a volunteer for three months in order for me to learn more about the field. Immediately the staff noticed my passion and love for the field and offered me the chance to be part of their team. I began working for these dentists as a dental assistant. Within this capacity I learned and gained valuable exposure and assisted in different severe cases of periodontitis and surgical extractions, and as a result, I truly came to understand the consequences of disease these patients faced and their impact on their general health.
I went to Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine where I earned my DMD degree in 2020. One of my greatest desire as a dentist is to discover ways to educate members of our communities and help them obtain the treatment they need. Sadly, I have seen many people seek extractions just to avoid future pain. It is apparent that no one had ever explained to them the importance of good oral hygiene and the consequences of lack of dental care.
I hope to have the great honor as a dentist to perform the essential and vital role in society that this profession offers. I feel confident that my dedication to this field and the passion of helping others allowing me one day to become a valued member of this competitive and demanding profession. Since my future is no a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice, dentistry will always be my choice.
